1st day: Athens
Arrival in the morning at the airport – transfer to the hotel – breakfast – sightseeing in Athens. This tour gives you the opportunity to observe the striking contrast that makes Athens such a fascinating city. Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street you'll see Evzones and the Presidential Palace, then the Panatheinac Stadium where the first Olympic Games were held, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. Visit the Acropolis, its museum and masterpieces of the golden age of Athens. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight in Athens.
2nd day: Athens – Argolis – Olympia
Departure in the morning and visit to the archaeological sites of Mikines, Epidaurus and Ancient Corinth. Visit the imposing ruins of the site of Mycenae with a local guide, the ancient city called by Homer 'City rich in Gold'. It was here that the Golden Mask of Agamemnon was unearthed and many other treasures which matched exactly Homer's descriptions in the Iliad (entrance fees included). Enter the city by the magnificent Lion's Gate and wander up to Agamemnon's Royal Palace. Next to Epidaurus to visit the world famous theatre. Continue and visit to the archaeological site of Olympia, the legendary venue of the Olympic Games, which every four years engaged the city-states in sport instead of war. 3rd day: Olympia – Patra – Delphi
Departure and through Patra – Rio – Antirio, arrival in Delphi. Sightseeing: known in ancient times as the 'Navel of the Earth'. Located 5 minutes from the village, the ancient site, backed by imposing Mount Parnassus, is in one of the most beautiful natural settings in the country and your sightseeing with local guide takes you along the Sacred Way to see the Temple of Apollo, some of the Treasuries and the Theatre. Overnight in Delphi.
4th day: Delphi – Kalampaka
Departure and arrival in Kalampaka. Today will enjoy a spectacular drive up to visit Meteora Monasteries first built in the 14th Century by monks seeking isolation and salvation, they were accessible only by ropes thrown from above. We will climb up the steps built long ago. In the monasteries there are Byzantine museums exhibiting superb icons, old manuscripts and unique mosaics and frescoes. Overnight in Kalampaka.
5th day: Kalampaka – Thessaloniki
Departure and arrival in Thessaloniki. Free time to know the beautiful city. Overnight.
6th day: Thessaloniki
Sightseeing of the city: highlights will include the Archaeological Museum with its numerous exhibits of the Classical and Roman periods and the triumphal Arch of the Emperor Galerius which rises over the famous Via Egnatia. Visit the remarkable Basilicas of Saint Demetrius and Saint Sophia with a display of splendid mosaics, the White Tower and the Castles. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
7th day: Thessaloniki – Athens
Departure and arrival at Athens airport.
